Aline Hunziker was born in Switzerland and grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She received a BA in French and Spanish literature from Pomona College in California in 1997 and studied fine arts at Santa Fe Community College and the University of New Mexico. Aline worked as a lead instructor with the nonprofit organization Fine Arts for Children and Teens for six years providing arts education to students throughout Northern New Mexico, and assisted the Friends of the Orphan Signs in Albuquerque with a teen art program that culminated in the creation of a permanent art installation on Central Avenue. She creates sculpture using a variety of media including bronze, wood, steel, resin, embroidery thread and recycled materials and currently spends her time between Santa Fe, New Mexico and Oaxaca City, Mexico.
